Circular Type Sand Trap

Circular type sand traps are used to retain heavy solids found in wastewater, which, if not removed, go to the ventilation and sedimentation stages of the treatment system and settle there, causing blockages in the pipes during low flow times. These types of sand traps are small and used in various configurations. In circular type sand traps, wastewater enters the tank tangentially and exits radially. With the help of a mixer in the tank, the water circulates at a slow but constant tangential speed. Meanwhile, the heavy sand particles settle on the bottom of the tank and are sucked from there with the help of a pump and taken into the collection and holding tanks.
