Suction Scrapers
These are structures where the sludge settled on the bottom of the tank is removed from the environment by being sucked by suction ports along the bottom. They are generally designed with rotating bridges.
Sedimentation tanks where suction type scrapers will be used are built flat, without any slope on their bottoms. Just like the classic rotary bridge scrapers, they are designed as half bridge, extended bridge or full bridge. Suction nozzles are hung on the rotating bridge by a suspension system, and the sucked mud is discharged into a channel suspended on the bridge. The collected mud is taken into the mud chamber by siphoning from the end of the channel. It is possible to control the suction lines with telescopic valves.
